Mike here from Build Environmental, I'd like to welcome you to our Substack.

Fair chance you have landed here because you're awesome... Annnnd you have an interest in helping the climate crisis through reducing emissions within the building industry. So thank you for stopping by.

Build Environmental is a handle I have created to bring awareness and information into the community about ways in which we can lower environmental impacts within the building industry. My vision here is to create a space where we can share useful information and open up conversation on ways we can do better. 

I'm thinking I'll start by writing regular blog posts like this. These posts will be informal and informative.
I'll be sharing things like: what is embodied carbon, operational emissions vs upfront material emissions, how different wall assemblies account for different amounts of emissions, conscious building practices, cool alternative insulations options, fire resiliency, why we should lessen our concrete use, etc etc. Basically, resourceful things I find or create along the journey that can help better ourselves, our businesses and the environment.

This is a brand new and exciting endeavour for me and I'm stoked to share information, grow and move forward in a positive direction together as a community of like minded folks.
